Community Bunting Project Vancouver Farmers Markets
JUNE 14, 2014 1pm – 3pm Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House | 800 East Broadway FREE | No registration required
Help decorate the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market by creating personalized bunting! We supply the triangular tableau, you supply the imagination. Paint, collage, glue it, stamp it! Artists of all ages will be able to see their work strung up at the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market for the rest of the summer.
Join illustrator Laura Gibson at the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House as she takes new and recycled materials to create fun and flavourful art that flaps in the wind. Fun for all ages, beautiful decorations for all summer long! Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
Illustrator Laura Gibson has been doodling almost her entire life, and has been getting paid for it for over a decade! Her clients include Hallmark Greetings, Simon and Schuster Publishing, CR Gibson, Whitecap Publishing, Life Brand Baby Products (Shoppers Drug Market), and Canadian Living, Seventeen, Flare and Twist Magazines. Her paintings are in collections all over the world. She also manages the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market every Sunday from June to October and takes yearly trips to build houses with Habitat for Humanity.
Vancouver Farmers Markets is about people who love fresh food at festive gatherings and we’re opening the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market on Sunday, June 15 at the corner of Guelph and 8th Ave. It runs every Sunday until October 12 at Guelph Park (aka “Dude Chilling Park”). Since we’re not open before Draw Down, we’re setting up the Community Bunting Project at the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House. Their mission is to connect neighbours and build community. It is located centrally in East Vancouver, easily accessible via transit on East Broadway. What a delicious collaboration!
