Jennifer Skillen began teaching art to children in Vancouver as a volunteer, while studying for her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Emily Carr University, from 2007 to 2010, and continued this after graduation, in addition to her 15-year career as a Pediatric Registered Nurse.
A painter working in oils and encaustic (melted beeswax), Jennifer uses her creative sensibilities to share her love of imagination, forms, found objects, colour, abstraction and art history with those she teaches, developing courses like Art Time Travelers. Jennifer also has a strong background in textiles, filling up her free time with quilting, knitting and redesigning old clothing.
