ARCHIVE 2012 - Drawing Attention at Emily Carr University
Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 10am - 4pm
Emily Carr University, 1399 Johnston Street, Granville Island, Vancouver BC FREE Drawing Attention is a free, all-day drawing assembly facilitated by members of Emily Carr's Teen Art Group. Participate in one of many drop-in workshops that will be led by Emily Carr MA students throughout the day, and learn experimental techniques in pencil, charcoal and chalk. Materials will be provided - all you need to bring are your creative sparks!
This workshop is presented by the Continuing Studies Department of the Emily Carr University of Art + Design—one of the oldest post-secondary institutions in British Columbia and the only one that is dedicated solely to professional education and learning in the arts, media and design. At every opportunity, the University promotes public understanding and appreciation of fine arts, media arts, and design for their significant impact on the well-being of our society. The Teen Art Group is a group of twenty-five youth aged 15–18 that meets twice a month, combining workshops at both Emily Carr University and the Vancouver Art Gallery. The goals of this program include fostering and facilitating a new generation of artists and cultural critics for the future, and giving Vancouver- area youth unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to two cultural institutions. |
