The Big Draw heads to the beach to make big sand drawings and compositions from found materials gathered at the seashore.
Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
Phyllis Schwartz is a multi-disciplinary artist and curator who works in photography, ceramics and publishing. She is an Emily Carr University of Art + Design graduate with a concentration in photography and the recipient of the Canon Photography Award. Her photography has been installed, exhibited and published locally, across Canada and internationally; her works are in corporate, public and private collections. She is a Vancouver and ArtStarts Artist in Residence. As well she is the Sketchbook Coordinator, a joint venture between the Vancouver School Board and UBC Faculty of Education.
Jericho Beach on the north side of Jericho Park at the west end of Point Grey Rd between Wallace St and Discovery St. Washrooms, pay parking and picnic tables are available in this park. This is a rain-or-shine workshop, but sheltered areas are nearby if necessary.
