Exquisite Bees with Madame Beespeaker Dunbar Community Centre
OCT 1, 2016 1pm – 3pm Dunbar Community Centre | 4747 Dunbar Street (Main Lobby) FREE | No registration required
Join Madame Beespeaker as we create drawings of bees in a collaborative process. We will learn the parts of a bee and then mix and match them to create imaginary pollinators. After we’ve created an imaginary bee, people can suggest names for these exquisite new creatures. This is an inclusive workshop for all ages and skill levels.
Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
Lori Weidenhammer, aka Madame Beespeaker, is an artist and educator that is focused on bringing people of all ages together to make the world a better place for our native bees. She has recently published a book called Victory Gardens for Bees, a DIY Guide to Saving the Bees. Lori works in a variety of media including performance, drawing, and textile art.
The Dunbar Community Centre is a volunteer-managed, non-profit society and registered charity, whose vision is to represent and advocate for the recreational, social and educational interests of our community. The DCCA strongly supports the fundamental concepts of ‘Health and Wellness’ and ‘Active Living’, as cornerstones for both programming and (future) facility renewal.
