ARCHIVE 2012 - Face 2 Face at Renfrew Blind Continuous Line Contour Drawing with Donna Cowan
Saturday, June 9, 2012 from 11:00am - 1:00pm Renfrew Park Community Centre, 2929 East 22nd Avenue, Vancouver BC FREE
Portraits like you've never seen! Visitors to Renfrew Community Centre are invited to participate in a fun and unusual drawing experience... you'll just need to follow a few simple rules. First, you only have one minute to to do your drawing. Don't worry, you'll be amazed at what you can accomplish in such a short amount of time. Second, you must only look at the face you're drawing and not at your paper. Third, you must do your portrait in a continuous line, meaning you can't lift your pen from the paper until you're finished. Ready to give it a try? You'll be glad you did! No drawing skills are required—just a creative desire and a sense of fun.
Situated on the south end of lovely Renfrew Ravine Park, Renfrew Park Community Centre was opened in 1963 and offers an active complex of facilities to serve the growing Renfrew-Collingwood neighbourhood. This area is home to the city's highest population of children and youth and fastest growing seniors population. Numerous languages are spoken throughout the community and its ethnicity is celebrated through a variety of diverse and vibrant cultural events.
