Re-Invent-ing US Moberly Arts Community Centre, Fieldhouse
JUNE 14, 2014 5pm – 8pm Moberly Arts Community Centre, Fieldhouse | 7646 Prince Albert Street FREE | No registration required
Re-Invent Fieldhouse invites you to reinvent the narrative of who we are by drawing answers with paint on wood panels forming a constellation. Where do we come from? Where are we now? Where are we going? You are invited to drop-in and co-create with your neighbor friend the narratives of life’s identity. You may write, draw, and paint your own metaphors using stencils, brushes, sponges, sticks, stamps, fingers, and paint markers.
Participants of all ages and experience are welcome. Presented in partnership with “Community Constellations” from A Cabinet of Curiosities: The 20th Annual Vancouver International Storytelling Festival.
Melanie Schambach is a social artist, born and raised in Colombia and Guatemala. She aims to bring meaning into public spaces through facilitating participatory paintings processes that encourage people to think critically, open dialogue, and voice their messages on relevant social issues.
Moberly Arts Community Centre, Fieldhouse is a Park Board Centre with an arts mandate, tucked away in a lovely park down by the Fraser River. We are passionate about the arts and offer a welcoming space for creative professionals, for people who think they can’t draw/dance/act but want to, and for everyone in-between.
