Sketching Architecture
West Point Grey/Aberthau Mansion

OCT 1, 2016
10:30am – 12:30pm

West Point Grey/Aberthau Mansion | 4397 West 2nd Avenue
FREE | No registration required

3-dimensional and perspective drawings are the foundation of representing the three-dimensional world across all art and design disciplines. They are also a couple of the most intimidating to learn. This is largely because traditional ways of teaching the topic are overly complex, making it difficult to understand and ultimately practice.

This doesn’t need to be the case.

The basic principles of representing the world through 3d and perspective drawings are simple, methodical, easy-to-understand rules. This workshop will attempt to demystify some of the fundamental concepts that structure 3D and perspective drawings, building from understanding the relationship between 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional drawing to the rules governing basic 1-point and 2-point perspective drawings. And seeing them put into practice in-situ with the presenter as he demonstrates how to structure these drawings freehand, using various techniques.

Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
