WE ARE HERE is a Marpole wide creative mapping project produced by chART: Public Art Marpole and led by artists Ashley Guindon, Cheryl Lee, Xian Luo, and Simeng Wang. The project consists of three maps: a street-mural map at 68th and Granville, a cross-stitched map showing significant spots in Marpole as identified by locals, and a paper map for community-wide distribution that will provide a unique experience of Marpole for everyone to enjoy! Join us at Marpole Oakridge Community Centre for a special Big Draw version of our cross stitched mapping! Using the chain-link fence around the Centre as our doodle pad, we will “draw” with line-stitching, creating a decorative public artwork for this vital community hub!
Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
