WE ARE HERE: Big Draw Edition
A Creative Mapping Project
Oak Park Fieldhouse

OCT 1, 2016
10:30am - 1pm
Oak Park Fieldhouse | 7474 Fremlin Street
FREE | No registration required

October 1, 2016 Big Draw activities will take place outside the Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre, on the preschool fence.  Subsequent workshops will unfold at the Oak Park Fieldhouse throughout the month of October. The workshop schedule will be available at the community centre in late September.

Get cross stitch mapping! Using the chain-link fence surrounding our collaborating neighbour, the Marpole Oakridge Community Centre as our doodle pad, we will “draw” with line-stitching, creating a decorative public artwork for this vital
community hub! Join us at the community centre and the park for our WE ARE HERE creative mapping Big Draw

WE ARE HERE is a Marpole wide creative mapping project produced by chART: Public Art Marpole and led by artists Ashley Guindon, Cheryl Lee, Xian Luo, and Simeng Wang. The project consists of three maps: a street-mural map at 68th and Granville, a cross-stitched map showing significant spots in Marpole as identified by locals, and a paper map for community-wide distribution that will provide a unique experience of Marpole for everyone to enjoy!

Continue working on this artist-led project throughout October.  Contact the Marpole-Oakridge Community Centre for more information.

Participants of all ages and experience are welcome.
